All over the world, increasing numbers of people are living to be over 100 years old. But some groups are particularly known for their longevity: these include the inhabitants of Crete, whose diet has become famous worldwide, and the residents of the Japanese island of Okinawa. But they are not the only ones. There are groups of people all over the world who are known for longevity. These include the inhabitants of Vilcabamba, in Ecuador; of the Hunza Valley, in the Himalayas in north-eastern Pakistan; and the Abkhasians and Georgians who live in the Caucasus Mountains. It has also been recorded that the Inuit have no cholesterol.

What are their secrets? What are the underlying principles of the diets of people who are scattered all over the globe? What aspects of their traditional diets should we adopt?

In this book, Jacques Fricker reveals the basic principles of the Mediterranean, Abkhazian, Hunzan and Japanese diets, and explains how to adapt them, while Dominique Laty gives us 75 recipes, inspired by ancestral nutrition, and shares with us some delicious, healthy meals.

A renowned nutritionist explains the principles behind some “longevity” diets. This book, with its 75 delicious, easy-to-prepare recipes, offers a perfect balance between theory and practice, between the pleasure of knowledge and the pleasure of tasty eating.
