Autism is a tragedy for more than 80,000 French families. Parents can not communicate with their children, they are confronted with the incomprehension of their entourage and the lack of specialized structures. Mothers have long suffered the guilty speech of psychoanalysts. Today, fortunately, things are beginning to change.
This book describes the most innovative projects, the role of parents' associations, takes stock of what is now known about autism and the processes of learning. It gives hope to all those who want to help autistic people.

Catherine Milcent, child psychiatrist, physician and psychoanalyst, is the mother of an autistic child and co-founder of the Association for Autism and Education (ASAP).
