Without hope there is no fight, no tenacity, no discovery. Hope enables us to tap into unexpected resources. It makes us look toward a better tomorrow. However, hope doesn’t always receive unanimous praise. It can result in disappointment and frustration since it encourages expectations that are not always met as we had imagined. Would it then be preferable not to have hope and to be content to remain in the present moment?
This work presents a different point of view: a dynamic and active hope, which enables one to move forward even when things are not going well. To overcome many obstacles or limitations hope is useful, even indispensable.
Positive psychology has revealed that the ability to hope favors psychological change in some patients. Without hope in therapy, there is no change toward increased well-being. Hope is thus one of the most precious of human resources.
This book proposes a helpful vision and explains the positive effects of hope. Quizzes and fun exercises help to test and develop one’s ability to hope in everyday life.
